1Its possible. An illegal drug is illegal which means there is illegal activity surrounding the kids. But in reality if the kids are living in a relatively safe and caring home, the CAS wont bother them. But if there are any questions of the children’s safety then they may ask the parents to do a drug test and then they may get into further trouble.
I do not condone smoking marijuana, but realistically the CAS has many other ‘larger’ problems to deal with. But if there are complaints from family members, friends concerned neighbours etc they will investigate.

2Yes, parents can get in trouble for smoking marijuana even for recreational purposes. I don’t know the laws in Ontario, but I’m assuming it’s illegal. It’s irresponsible to be parents and smoke dope. Not only is your friend putting her children at risk for being taken away and put into the system, but think of all the health risks if she is smoking in the house with the children! Even if the children are down the hall and in the their room, smoke travels through out the house. Tell your friend she should spend her dope money on something more important, like her kids.
