1The best gifts you can give are referrals, a detailed letter of recommendation, and photos of you in front of your house and their real estate sign with the word sold on it. Marketing materials from satisfied customers are the best gift any agent can get!

2NO. They get an absurd commission for work that individuals can do with the help of the Closing/Abstract company. THey should be thanking you! Some realtors will give their client a housewarming gift.

3Actually, the agent has been paid- – how about a gift basket its always appropriate. For a woman- why not go shopping at bed and body- or a man a basket of car cleaners.

6Don’t listen to some of these people complaining about realtor commissions. They obviously haven’t been on the side where an agent get screwed by a buyer or seller and spent money on advertising or wasted time showing listings.
Time is everything.
But anyway, this is an easy question, If you want to..then do it. If it makes you feel better than do it. Don’t do it if you’re doing it out of a sense of obligation, then absolutely not.
Realtors don’t expect a thing from you, but it makes us all feel good when someone recognizes our efforts. Maybe the realtor gave you a really good experience and made you enjoy the whole experience. Whatever, do what your heart tells you to do.
A realtor doesn’t need a basket of suasage and cheese, even though it is the thought that counts.
A sincere hand written letter to me, and a CC’d email to all your friends telling them how great I was and that they should use me next time would be the BEST gift you could give me.
Congratulations on your home.

7With our first house it was the agent who thanked us for our business and took us out to dinner. Personally I don’t think giving agents gifts should get started. If you think your agent was that good, give them referrals! That’s the best thing you can do for them to show your appreciation.
EDIT: Brenda, if I’m ever in the market to buy a new house I want THAT agent!!!

8Well, she actually should send you a gift. You are the client.
But a nice note to her and a good letter of sort to her boss would be appropriate.

9A thank you card is nice but it’s usually the real estate agent that gives the client a gift.
