1i think this is one of those topics where there are always exceptions to the rule. some people are just not book smart or good at taking tests, etc. and bad/failing grades can be the end result. if the person is trying and making an active effort (turning in all assignments, getting tutored, etc.) to better there studies I think it would be near criminal to prevent them in sports participation. team sports play a very vital role in the development of the child

3No. Participants in school sports are first students and second athletes. They must be required to maintain satisfactory passing grades. The primary purpose of school is to educate. Sports participation, while a learning experience, is typically an extra-curricular activity and outside the academic purposes of the education system. It is a privilege given to a select few and should be treated the same as other select programs where good scholarship is required such as the advanced placement and “honors” classes. Beyond that however, don’t use a blanket statement that implies that sports drains resources from academics. In some cases they do. In others sports actually provide additional resources to the school. In most cases they are a legitimate part of the education process.

4You’re in school to learn, sports are just an activity that should not be the main focus of a student. Also, if a student wants to participate in sports, it should be out of their own pocket. Kids who don’t want to play sports should not have to subsidize those who do.

5I believe that everyone should be allowed to play some sports of their choice. Keep america in shape, and get off the couch. As for bad grades, If they want 2 play sports, let the school get them a tutor for the bad grades. If they want 2 do sports bad enough they should be willing to work on their grades.
